Bob Daily '82 is an award-winning writer and producer, a veteran of more than a dozen television  series. He most recently served as Executive Producer of the critically acclaimed ABC/Hulu series  “The Wonder Years,” which won the 2021 Peabody Award and was nominated for a 2023 NAACP  Image Award. 

Daily started his screenwriting career on the NBC series “Frasier,” eventually serving as Co Executive Producer. In 2003 and 2004, he won back-to-back Writers Guild Awards in the category  of Outstanding Script –- Television Comedy. He also received an Emmy nomination for “Frasier,”  where he worked for five seasons, writing fifteen episodes (one of which was included in the book  The Very Best of Frasier). 

From 2006 to 2012, he was Executive Producer -- and eventually showrunner -- on the Emmy winning ABC series “Desperate Housewives,” where he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.  

He co-created the CBS series “Superior Donuts” and served as showrunner and Executive  Producer for two seasons. Other Executive Producer credits include “B Positive,” “Perfect  Harmony,” and “The Odd Couple.” 

Before moving to Hollywood, Daily worked as a journalist in Chicago, writing for a variety of  publications including Spy, Men’s Journal, the Chicago Tribune, and the Boston Globe. He has  published six books for children, including a biography of Elvis Presley that was named one of the  best books for young readers by the New York Public Library.  

He received an M.A. in English from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in English from  Carleton College (which gave him its Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award in 2007). He is married to Janet Kerrigan Daily and has two children, Emma and Owen.
